Events - 2017

Thursday 6th April 2017
New recruits from Price Waterhouse Cooper, Uxbridge, spent a day working with the Friends of Eastcote House Gardens. This was part of their induction week. They weeded, mulched and made paths, all new experiences for these post graduates. FEHG hope that they will come again next year.

Hinman Shield - May 2017
The recipients for the Hinman Shield for 2017 are the 4th Eastcote Scouts. The group have a regular slot each year for litter picking, grass clearing or whatever needs doing at Eastcote House Gardens. The Shield was presented to the 4th Eastcote by Deputy Mayor Cllr John Morgan and the Deputy Mayoress Mrs Fiona Morgan on Friday 26th May 2017, before the group set off to litter pick in Long Meadow.

Community Picnic - 3rd June 2017:
The Friends of EHG were joined by many local groups, Eastcote Horticultural Society, Eastcote Arts Society, Royal British Legion Eastcote Branch, Eastcote Cricket Club, St. Lawrence Church & The St. Lawrence Players, Eastcote Methodist Church, as well as many local artisans and charities.

The sun shone, ideal for picnicking. The Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr. Carol Melvin and her Consort Mr. Andrew Melvin joined in the fun.

The ever popular Dog Show attracted many visitors. The Stables housed exhibitions of Local History, Bill Hooks and Edible History.

Make a date for next year: Saturday 9th June 2018.

London Open House - Sunday 17th September 2017
Eastcote House Gardens celebrated the London Open House weekend in style. The Grade II listed Stables and Dovecote were open to the public with exhibitions on display. The Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr. Carol Melvin and her Consort Mr. Andrew Melvin, attended the event. Classic Cars, a Corn Dolly workshop, refreshments and other stalls made it a day to remember.

Annual Tree Dressing - Saturday 2nd December 2017
Christmas in Eastcote began at Eastcote House Gardens, when the massed choirs of Field End Infants, Coteford Infants, Coteford Junior and Warrender Schools together with the 6th Eastcote Scouts and Cubs launched the festive season with a concert of seasonal songs.

The Mayor of Hillingdon Cllr Carol Melvin thanked the Choirs for the beautiful singing and put the first decoration onto the tree.

The weather turned rainy but did not spoil the excitement of the day.
