Craft Group

Introduction
We set up our Craft Group in February 2016.

Our first group project produced the above banner for the Friends of Eastcote House Gardens, which is displayed at all events.

We knit, stitch, patchwork, crochet, cross-stitch and embroider and papercraft.

Our last project was to create medieval-style wall hangings for the Stables to be displayed during events such as the Picnic, Open House, Tree-Dressing and concerts. Many items are made for sale at these events to raise money to support the upkeep of the Gardens.

We meet in The Stables, Eastcote House Gardens on Tuesday afternoons, 1.30 - 4.00, except for the first Tuesday in the month. All meetings may be subject to cancellation/alteration. The Stables has limited capacity and numbers are restricted. Whilst enquiries are welcome, we are not currently taking on new members.

Lockdown Crafts
Before the group plunges into creations for the Platinum Jubilee year, here is a gallery showing some of the things we made during the lockdowns in 2020 and 2021

Denise made lots of scrubs.
Jill made a tiny nurse.
Liz made a Very Hungry Caterpillar along with all his food.
Easter arrived with some chicks, which were followed by a whole menagerie: sheep, mice, a deer, a zebra and even a unicorn.
Mandie did a bedroom makeover and also turned her expertise to a Frozen party cake.
Christine made a luscious lemon cake.
Followed by that lockdown favourite – Rosemary’s sourdough loaf, which fitted neatly into her bag.
Liz yarn-bombed the Royal Mail.
Jill was sensible with socks.
Mandie went all fabulous with tutus.
Jackie went large with some needlepoint Michaelmas daisies, and then very small with a violet box in petit point.
Kikkan quilted through the tough times.
And Denise’s new friend “Ozzie” made us all smile!
